Lakeyia Melton

Lakeyia was born and raised in Albany, New York. After graduating from high school, she went to college with the dream of becoming an audio engineer and working in the music industry. When that plan didn’t work out, she moved to Goldsboro, North Carolina, and worked at Sam’s Club for 16 years.

While working full-time, she went to school full-time with the hope of becoming a paralegal. Lakeyia graduated from Johnston Community College in 2021 with a degree in Paralegal Technology. During the pandemic, there weren’t many paralegal job opportunities available, let alone for those with little to no experience.

As fate would have it, she received an email from her former instructor about a job opening at Mast Law Firm. Lakeyia began working at Mast Law Firm in October 2025. While at Mast, she has taken on a huge role as a Personal Injury Paralegal. Although she is new to this job, she has learned a lot in a short time and is determined to thrive in her new career.
